What information will be provided to me?
How's My Kid will provide you with a picture of your child taken that day, any messages directly from your child, the activities your child participated in that day, and any updates that the center would like to send you.
How will I receive the information?
How's My Kid will send you an email message containing the picture and content described above. The email message will be sent to you just minutes after the update is completed.
Who will gather the information on my child?
The teacher of your child's class will gather the information, take the picture, and submit the update electronically.
How often will I receive an update?
The frequency of the update will depend on the class schedule and policies of the child-care center.
Can I send a message back to my child?
Yes! You can send a secure message back to your child. The teacher will read the message directly to your child at the time of the next update.
What if my child-care center is not already in the How's My Kid network?
It's easy. You can tell them about How's My Kid or send them a link to the website, www.howsmykid.com. Since the app is free to the child-care center as well, they should be glad to sign up. You also can go to the registration page and tell us the name and contact information of the center. How's My Kid will contact the center directly and let you know when they've signed up.
How do we get started?
How's My Kid is super easy to use. You simply register
to create your child-care center account. As you get interest from parents, just login to the website and add the parents and children to your account. Once you've registered your children and parents, they will stay on your account until you choose to remove them.
How do we gather the information?
Simply download our free app to your iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone or tablet! You'll use your own handheld device to take children's pictures and enter the update information. As you spend time with the class throughout the day, you'll take a few minutes to interact with each child to compose the update.
Which handheld devices do you currently support?
How's My Kid offers a free app for the iPhone, iPad 2, and iPod Touch 4 available for download from the App Store. How's My Kid also offers a free Android app available for download at Google Play (formerly the Android Market).
What if we don't have one of the listed handheld devices?
You can also take pictures using a digital camera and complete the updates through our website.
How do we send the information to the parents?
As soon as you complete the update, How's My Kid will send it to the parent automatically.
How do we know which children we need to send an update to?
How's My Kid will maintain the list of registered children in center. You just login to your account on the handheld device, and all the children who need updates will be presented to you electronically.
How do our parents sign up for the service?
You'll register parents and children on the How's My Kid website. To add a new child, simply login to your account and click the "Add New Child" button. Once you've registered the child, that information is sent automatically to the How's My Kid app on your smartphone or tablet.
